Storyline

The series focuses on an unconventional Los Angeles-based Japanese American police lieutenant named Ohara who uses spirituality methods such as meditation in his home shrine to solve crimes without the use of a gun or a partner, although he would use martial arts if necessary. He often talked in the form of epigrams. He was later paired with a partner named Lt. George Shaver who was a more conventional cop.

A good series, overlooked in a world of Hillstreet Blues
2 September 2002 | by SimmoMar-2See all my reviews

I remember watching this when I was about 8 years old back in the day, and I actually still have some episodes I return to from time to time. It was similar to the NYPD Blue / New York Undercover style shows but came before them. I believe because it followed Hillstreet in a time that cop dramas weren't big it didn't make a lasting impression. I doubt we'll be able to find it anywhere, but it was a neat show at the time.
