After Twitter Outcry, ‘New Girl’ Fans Finally Get Their Funko Pop
This “New Girl” is getting a new deal.

New Girl” star Hannah Simone, who portrayed Cece on the Fox sitcom, was a series regular until the show ended its seven season run in May. But when collectibles brand, Funko Pop, released its “New Girl” collection earlier this year, Simone’s character was nowhere to be found.

The glaring omission prompted a flood of angry comments from fans on social media, who were confused as to why Cece — who had been a staple character on the show — was excluded. Simone herself chimed in on Twitter, re-posting Funko’s announcement with a single word, tongue-in-cheek response: “Rude.”

Days after the Twitter outcry, Funko Pop owned up to its snub and announced that Simone would be getting her very own figurine. Now, six months later, the company has revealed that the Cece miniature will

Universal Monsters Get Turned Into Retro Halloween Buckets for Nycc

  • MovieWeb
Earlier this year, Super7 announced plans to make classic Universal Monsters retro-style Halloween buckets and even showed off the pre-production samples at the New York Toy Fair. The company has just announced that they will have the Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon buckets for sale at this year's New York Comic-Con from October 4th through the 7th with each bucket costing a mere $20. In the original announcement, there were Wolfman and The Mummy buckets, but Super7 will only have the Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon buckets for sale at this time.

Both of Super7's 1980s-style Halloween buckets look awesome, but the Creature from the Black Lagoon has a slight edge over Frankenstein's Monster, whichever you prefer. However, The Wolf Man bucket looks the best out of all four when it made its debut through the pre-production samples. It's unclear if Super7 has completely ditched the Wolfman and Mummy buckets,

TV Stars Who Deserve Emmys but Have Never Been Nominated — IndieWire Critics Survey

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday.

This week’s question: Who is the one performer deserving of an Emmy but has never been nominated?

(Of all time. This is open to any actors on canceled TV shows also, not just current contenders.)

Ben Travers (@BenTTravers), IndieWire

It’s Justin Theroux. It’s Eva Green. It’s Aya Cash. It’s Nick Offerman. It’s Constance Wu. It’s any number of singular, stand-out performances infuriatingly ignored over the course of multiple seasons. Each of these actors played the same role for three or more seasons in “The Leftovers,” “Penny Dreadful,” “You’re the Worst,” “Parks and Recreation,” and “Fresh Off the Boat,” respectively, and the TV Academy’s refusal to acknowledge their top-tier evocations is maddening.

But it’s also Lauren Graham, Adam Scott, Courteney Cox, Wendell Pierce,

Homer Simpson, “The Simpsons

Homer Simpson is TV’s most famous dad but not exactly a role model. He may be good at heart but some of his favorite past times include drinking, laying on the couch, and strangling his son Bart whenever he gets out of line.

Daniel Plaineview, “There Will Be Blood

Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis) says it straight out, “he’s an oilman”; he puts family second behind his own greed. That becomes abundantly clear as his relationship deteriorates with his adopted son throughout the movie.

Al Bundy, “Married With Children

Ed O’Neill was a very different kind of family man on “Married With Children” than he is now on “Modern Family.” Al’s cynical outlook on life has a hard time not having an effect on his kids.

The first is, how can a sitcom that is more than 30 years old continue to be popular, getting an 8.1 IMDb rating? The second is, how does Ed O’Neill, a paunchy, balding man, manage to get paired with two beauties that are separated by three decades? The answer to the first question is that “Married with Children” was way ahead of its time. At the time it was first released, it aired on Fox, a channel

The Real ‘Roseanne’ Effect: How It Could Energize Market for TV Comedies

  • Variety
The morning after “Roseanne” made its return to television, ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey opened an email containing Nielsen’s metered-market ratings — the day’s first indicator of how the previous night’s primetime broadcast offerings were received. What she saw did not make sense.

“I looked at the numbers and I thought, ‘That can’t be right,’” Dungey told Variety. “I honestly was floored. I thought that it was a typo and how can that be.” She remained in disbelief until shortly after 8 a.m., when the fast-national numbers arrived, bringing what happened into focus. “I was like, this is actually real. This is really real.”

“Roseanne” averaged a 5.2 live-plus-same-day rating in the important 18-49 demo and 18.4 million total viewers — both figures higher than those of any other scripted broadcast program this season on a non-Super Bowl night, and better than the family comedy’s original series finale did 21 years ago.
