Dolly Parton, Kid Rock Among Stars Cutting Ties with Nashville Publicist Over Sexual Assault Allegations
Some of the biggest names in country music, including Dolly Parton and Kid Rock, are severing ties with Nashville publicity titan Webster PR following a deluge of sexual harassment and assault allegations made against the firm’s owner/CEO, Kirt Webster.

30 Times Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, and Lily Tomlin Were the 3 Best Friends Anyone Could Have
One of the best moments from this year's Emmy Awards was the reunion between BFFs Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton. The trio, who starred together in the iconic 1980 comedy 9 to 5, hit the stage to present the award for outstanding supporting actor in a limited series or movie and took a shot at our current president, saying, "In 1980, we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot boss . . . and in 2017, we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot boss." RelatedJane Fonda Is 79 Years Old and on Her Way to Steal Your Man Needless to say, it was amazing to see these three together again: back in January, Dolly and Jane were supposed to link up to present Lily with a lifetime achievement award at the SAG Awards, but when Jane got sick, Dolly went it alone (and killed it). Tony Awards 2017: Key Moments, Interesting Stats, Winners List

by Nathaniel R

Last night the American theater community, and a boat load of adjacent stars (hello Tina Fey & Scarlett Johansson) celebrated Broadway triumphs at the 71st Annual Tony Awards. As expected the revival of Hello Dolly and Dear Evan Hansen owned the evening with 4 and 6 wins respectively. Composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are now halfway to the Egot in less than half a year having picked up the Oscar for Best Original song for La La Land back in February. But the peak of the evening was Bette Midler's very funny, quite enthusiastic and extremely long acceptance for Best Actress in a Musical (the biggest lock of the evening going in). It's the first time I can recall a performer ignoring the orchestra trying to play her off so insistently that they finally gave up. Her speech had a whole and even better second act as if

Brandi Carlile Says Dolly Parton One-Up’d Her on Her Own Signature Song: ‘She Just Completely Takes Me to School’

When folk rocker Brandi Carlile decided to record a cover of her groundbreaking 2007 album The Story, she set her sights on just one voice to sing the title track: her idol Dolly Parton.

But could the 71-year-old country icon still hit the high notes on this mountain range of a song?

Carlile, 35, wasn’t sure, so in her handwritten request, she suggested Parton could drop the song a key.

It was, Carlile tells People, “about the stupidest thing I think I’ve ever put down in writing.”

Parton enthusiastically accepted the invitation to record. After all, the album Cover Stories
