Trivia

Quotes

Eloise Davis: [in the kitchen making a sandwich, Eloise hears a tapping sound] Hmm.
[continues to make her sandwich, hears a distinct tapping noise three times]
Eloise Davis: Is someone tap, tap, tapping at my window?
[hears the tapping three times again, opens the kitchen door and steps out. The ghost of Widow Marian appears]
Eloise Davis: Are you a, g... ghost?
Widow Marian: Yes.

Fun Family Film

Mr. Boogedy (1986)

*** (out of 4)

Nice episode in the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color series has Carleton Davis (Richard Masur) moving his wife, daughter (Kristy Swanson) and two sons into a new house, which just happens to be haunted by the mysterious Mr. Boogedy. A local historian (John Astin) warns them about what could possibly happen but the family decides to stay in the house.

MR. BOOGEDY is a highly entertaining film that manages to have several nice laughs as well as features a very familiar cast and they certainly keep this thing entertaining. Masur has always been one of my favorite character actors and he brings in that great charm of his. It's also fun getting to see an early performance from Swanson who is nice here and you also get to see David Faustino before his MARRIED WITH CHILDREN days. Astin is also very good in his role, which will certainly have people smiling and thinking about his days in THE ADDAMS FAMILY.

The special effects are certainly a part of their time but they're fun enough to keep you entertained. The same is true for the goofy charm, the music score and direction. MR. BOOGEDY will probably have enough chills for younger viewers but it's entertaining enough for their parents as well.
