Love found in the form of a ...keychain?
29 September 2003 | by EyeAskanceSee all my reviews

Christopher Lambert is good as always in this ponderous "rara avis", wherein he finds, by mere chance, a keychain bauble forged in the likeness of a woman's face. By and by, Lambert comes to find that this mysterious little doohickey responds to the sound of a whistle by whispering in a sultry voice, "I love you". Lambert, rather selfish and understandably lonely in his bachelorhood, begins to harbor obsessive feelings for this object, feelings which ultimately become destructive to his personal growth.

A very odd premise, no question. Somehow, though, it manages to remain quite engaging clear through to its insane and entirely unexpected resolve. I'd rate this a solid 6 out of 10, but I could only possibly recommend it without hesitation to monomaniacs of European art cinema...I think it's safe to say that the casual viewer will merely draw a blank with something like this.
