Storyline

German vehicle fanatic Dieter 'Didi' accepts to drive a truckload of waste barrels to a French dump site. Didi ignores the plant needs to dump toxic waste after a major incident, which made the international news. But while the French site exploiter's agent Marcel believes it's Did's load, that's in fact a deliberately obvious diversion. Now everyone chases everyone else. Written by KGF Vissers

Trivia

During filming the actors spoke their native language, meaning the audio was recorded in French and German. This original recording is presumed lost. As the film was never sold to a French-speaking country and therefore never dubbed, nobody really wanted those recordings and they were probably thrown out with all other unneeded materials (like outtakes, deleted scenes etc.) when UFA cleared their vaults. AIMLESS AND WEARISOME
18 April 1999 | by J. SteedSee all my reviews

What? Auf vollen Touren? The truck Didi is driving may be, but the film surely is not. The comedy never gets of the ground and successful jokes are few and far between. It perhaps could have been a mild satire on (political) corruption concerning chemical waste disposal, but now it an aimless and wearisome farce.
