Storyline

As crime runs rampant in the United States, the hard-as-nails LAPD Lieutenant, Marion "Cobra" Cobretti, is the only cure for the crime-infested urban jungle of Los Angeles. In the meantime, a string of seemingly unconnected and unmotivated random assaults on civilians will soon drag the hardened officer into a violent war against the psychopaths of the secret organisation named "The New World". With the criminal society's sole purpose to weed out the weak, Cobra will escort an important witness--the young model, Ingrid--out of town to protect her; however, the movement's delusional killers will stop at nothing to track her down. Now, the only one who stands in their way is the one-man-army Lieutenant. Are they prepared for Cobra's nasty bite? Written by Nick Riganas

Trivia

Originally, the motorcycle chase scene in the ending was to be filmed in Seattle during the night on a ferry between the islands. Even though everything was prepared to start filming the scene at night, Sylvester Stallone ordered for the ending to be changed and to happen during the day because of the mosquito problem at that time which would have made night-time filming very difficult to endure. The best 80's bad-ass action slasher film from Stallone I love this movie to death my personal favorite
15 October 2018 | by rambofan4lifeSee all my reviews

Like the title says Cobra is one of my personal favorite action horror films of all time, that it is mixed with action and horror. It is one of the best underrated 80's slasher films I have ever saw. You can see my title I am a huge Rambo fan I am huge Sylvester Stallone fan he is my number 1 favorite action star. Rambo films will always be Sly's number 1 my personal favorite action franchise. Cobra is my number 2 favorite action film of all time. Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III and Cobra are my personal favorite 80's action films of all time. Cobra is my second favorite film because it is directed by George P. Cosmatos who reunited with Stallone a year later. Cobra is highly entertaining underrated action - horror flick.

I would put this movie right between Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Predator 1 and 2, Hard Target, Robocop, John Wick 1 and 2 and Aliens a great action flick.

Cobra is directed by George P. Cosmatos who directed Rambo: First Blood Part II my all time personal favorite action film of all time. I thought George P. Cosmatos directed well the movie I love Cobra to death it is a decent action film from the 80's I love, love, love this movie to death! This is Stallone's answer to Dirty Harry. The reason it looks like Dirty Harry is because there were 2 actors who played in Dirty Harry: Reni Santoni and Andrew Robinson who both played their characters respectfully in this movie. Sylvester Stallone adapted the screenplay from the Paula Gosling novel Fair Game. He was written a script for Beverly Hills Cop but he was fired from Paramount so he make this movie. Cobra is also part of The Cannon Group, Inc. The film ultimately proved to be a critical and financial disappointment.

A serial killer known the Night Slasher (Brian Thompson ) is terrorizing the city in L.A. he kills everyone old people, children, young girls everyone. Lt. Marion "Cobra" Cobretti (Sylvester Stallone) is the only cop who try's to prevent the murders and stop the killer. But the trail leads to an army of killers who are murders cult who believe in "New World" they want to whip everyone in the city " the weak people" in the society so the strongest survives. There is only one witness a girl (Brigitte Nielsen) who can identify the leader of the cult, she is a treat to them they want to waste her. Cobra is the only who is able to protect her at any cost.

Lt. Marion "Cobra" Cobretti is my comic book hero my all time ultimate favorite action hero. He is one-men army assault force with his laser submachine gun and pearl-handled Colt .45 spit pure crime stopping venom. This my favorite action hero of all time, John Rambo is my first hero, Cobra 2 and John Matrix from Commando is 3.

Brigitte Nielsen did an excellent job as female lead Ingrid Knudsen she was excellent she remind me on my mom in the 80's I love her she is so likeable character in this movie. Brian Thompson was terrifying one of the best creepy slasher villains I have ever seen. He was decent at acting. The film has tons of action in this movie there are explostions, people are been slashed in the hospital and axed in the parking garage. Cobra gun fire with his 45. Colt gang of motorcycles, he spills a psycho with gas and he torches him in to fire. Cobra machine guns annihilate bikers on a motorcycles in his truck who are following him. You have a great chase in the car Night Slasher and his side kick are car chasing Cobra and Ingrid, great chase. I love Cobra's car 1950 Mercury Monterey Coupe with his nitrous oxide engine.

I love the music theme from Sylvester Levay for the movie. I love the soundtracks for this movie: Angel of the City by Robert Tepper, Hold on to Your Vision by Gary Wright and Feel the Heat by Jean Beauvoir. This film come the same year as Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, Aliens, The Hitcher, Top Gun and even Schwarzenegger's Raw Deal and I would put this movie over Raw Deal and I don't understand the hate for Cobra.

The film is short and goes fast paced around. It is my personal Stallone's favorite action film and it is rated R and they don't make movies like this anymore.
