Police officers Trevor Darling and Nikki Iceton have to escort a young Aboriginal woman to the NSW outback to stand trial. Kath is accused of murdering a publican who tried to rape her. Trevor is a disgraced drug squad detective who was accused of shooting an Aboriginal youth; Nikki is a new recruit who thinks he is a racist. They become stranded in the desert when he decides to take a shortcut. Kath saves them with her local knowledge, but they're being followed by an Aboriginal man in a purple car. Forced to rely on each other, the lines blur between police officers and prisoner. By the time they are rescued, both Nikki and Trevor believe Kath is innocent. They are determined to get the proof. improvised and small budget : Best actor David Argue, best support Gia Carides and Lydia Miller. iconic masterpiece . underrated in Australia .

I have always loved David Argue and Gia Carides ,so when i saw they were both in this film I was excited ; as I know of MR Argues Stand up work, and other most of the work he has done . No matter what can be said about directors choices . I found the film Highly original ,It's Awards far out-way it's otiose transgressions . It had a crew of about 8 people and the dialogue was invented on set By the actors who were following a schedule rather than a script . It is a satirical gem. take what you like from it BackLash stands alone as One of a kind .
