Storyline

57 years after Ellen Ripley had a close encounter with the reptilian alien creature from the first movie, she is called back, this time, to help a group of highly trained colonial marines fight off against the sinister extraterrestrials. But this time, the aliens have taken over a space colony on the moon LV-426. When the colonial marines are called upon to search the deserted space colony, they later find out that they are up against more than what they bargained for. Using specially modified machine guns and enough firepower, it's either fight or die as the space marines battle against the aliens. As the Marines do their best to defend themselves, Ripley must attempt to protect a young girl who is the sole survivor of the decimated space colony. Written by blazesnakes9

Trivia

For the pulse rifles, James Cameron wanted the brightest muzzle flash possible so that the firing would light up the actors faces, like in the classic early gangster films; in which they used Thompson submachine guns. The flash was due to the inefficiency of the tommy gun, in which unburned powder would fly from the barrel and be ignited on the way out. After trying out every fully automatic weapon in the armorer's collection, the found the one with the brightest muzzle flash - which turned out to be the classic Thompson submachine gun. See more »

Goofs

After the climactic battle with the Queen, Ripley plunged into the airlock, and as she is unbuckling from the loader we see her t-shirt is torn at the right shoulder. She then is presented to be climbing vertically out of the airlock. The torn t-shirt torn flaps are clearly pointing horizontally in front of her, indicating that gravity is pulling in front of her rather than below her. See more »

"I knew you'd come..."

ALIENS really does have it all. Perfect direction. Beautiful cinematography. Intense characters. Big guns. Action. Heroism. Courage. Battles. Friendship. Bravery. It is certainly the BEST sequel ever made in movie history, and one of the GREATEST MOVIES EVER MADE.

At its core is Lt. Ellen Ripley (played by the badass Sigourney Weaver), a warrant officer, and tough as nails. Her character is one of the greatest heroines of all time. Sigourney really does pull it off. No one else could have done it like her. Ripley's maternal connection with the young girl Newt is amazing to watch...but the ultimate scene is her final battle with the galaxy's most deadly creature - set to a pulsing military score (James Horner delivers in a big way!). Quite possibly my favorite fight scene of all time.

There's not really much else to say - just go watch the movie on DVD, and you will not be let down. You're in for a wild ride!!!
