Mahoney and friends have graduated from the Police Academy (1984) and are issued with their first assignments. As before, their cheerfulness and devotion to duty outweigh any shortcomings, but are they ready to do battle with a band graffiti daubing terrorists?Written by
In an interview prior to the start of production, David Graf said that he would not mind doing a series of Police Academy movies. "I'd do it strictly for the money. (Wife) Kathy and I went to a party at Hugh Wilson's, and it was all very ritzy, with valet parking, caviar, champagne, all that, and while we were there, surrounded by all that luxury, Kathy and I were talking about how we were going to pay the gas bill. The gas company had told us they were going to discontinue service the next day. I don't want to be in that position again. So, yes, I would do a series of Police Academies, for money." True to his word, Graf appeared in all seven of the original Police Academy movies. See more »
When Hooks apprehends Zed at the foot of the steps, Mahoney calls to her and she turns to her left to acknowledge him. However, when we return to the point of view from the top, she is standing the opposite way around and looking to her right. See more »
It's official, Captain Lassard. This is now the worst precinct in the entire city! Burglary up 25%, armed robbery up 30%, vandalism up 44%.
Actually, Chief, if you'd look, burglary is actually up 48%.
Thank you. Who are you?
Mauser, sir. M as in man A-U, S as in Sam.
Capt. Peter 'Pete' Lassard:
Oh, shut up and sit down, Mauser. He asked for your name, not your biography.

Police Academy 2 Their First Assignment is filled with non stop laughs from start to finish honestly I enjoyed this movie more than it's sequels because after wards it got a bit boring. This time around we see Police Academy graduates Carey Mahoney (Guttenberg) and his friends Jones (Winslow), Hooks (Ramsey), Hightower (Smith), gun loving Tackleberry (Graf), and Fackler (Mahler) assigned to the 16th precinct to help stop a gang led by Zed (Goldthwait) that's terrorizing the neighborhood. Meanwhile Lieutenant Mauser (Metrano) does all he can to prevent the new recruits from succeeding if all fails he'll replace Pete Lassard (Hesseman) the brother of Commadant Lassard (Gaynes) as captain. So the group fights back with slapstick humor and crazy antics, along the way Tackleberry falls in love with fellow officer and also gun lover Kathleen Kirkland (Camp)It was so funny seeing Mahoney get revenge on Mauser by switching the shampoo with epoxy resin made me laugh so hard.
