In 1956, the shy Jonathan's luck with girls changes when he wins the rebellious Gene as a friend in his last year of high school. Gene is adored by many girls and manages to teach Jonathan a few lessons. Gene himself would rather just be with one girl: his girlfriend Bunny. However, since his father is poor, her parents don't accept him.

The first time seems like the worst time, but it's the one time you'll never forget!
Did You Know?
The original title of the film was "Heart and Soul". It was then changed to "Getting Lucky". Finally, just prior to release they chose "Mischief". See more
At about 48:42, Gene and Bunny are heading out of town for a little getaway. The scenes show them on Gene's motorcycle crossing the bridge that says "Nelsonville" while they are leaving town (with the sign eventually at their backs). In the next shot we see them on a curving road with a nice view of the valley on the right and they are coming toward the camera while they are leaving town. At the beginning of the movie we see Gene's moving truck making its way INTO town but they show the truck going in the same direction as Gene and Bunny were going on the motorcycle while they were leaving town.
