Arnold Schwarzenegger Fans Want King Conan Now More Than Ever

Arnold Schwarzenegger Fans Want King Conan Now More Than Ever
Arnold Schwarzenegger drawing his Conan the Barbarian sword in a recent video have fans clamoring for a King Conan movie now more than ever. This week, the veteran actor and former California governor took to social media to post a seven-minute video addressing the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. A poignant message, the video was viewed more than 36 million times with over a million likes on Twitter.

Of course, one of the biggest takeaways Arnold Schwarzenegger fans got from the video was that he referenced his classic role as Conan the Barbarian. Literally drawing out the character's mighty sword, Schwarzenegger uses the blade to stress his point. "Here's the thing about swords. The more you temper a sword, the stronger it becomes," Arnold explains, suggesting that democracy had a lot in common with the steel of the Conan sword.

Conan's weapon making a cameo in the video was

Arnold Schwarzenegger Invokes Conan in a Message to the World

Arnold Schwarzenegger Invokes Conan in a Message to the World
Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger has invoked one of his earlier roles, that of Conan, in order to best describe his political ethos. Wielding the sword he used in the 1982 action epic Conan The Barbarian, the action star reminds viewers that the sword's blade only gets stronger each time the metal is folded in on itself and forged in the fire, the perfect metaphor for democracy.

— Arnold (@Schwarzenegger) January 10, 2021"Here's the thing about swords. The more you temper a sword, the stronger it becomes. The more you pound it with a hammer and then heat it in the fire, and then thrust it into the cold water and then pound it again ... the more often you do that, the stronger it becomes. I'm not telling you this because

Arnold Schwarzenegger Reportedly Interested In Doing New Predator Movie

Arnold Schwarzenegger Reportedly Interested In Doing New Predator Movie
Arnold Schwarzenegger may have played the Terminator five times over a span of 35 years, but outside of his career-defining role, the action icon doesn’t generally tend to make a lot of sequels. In fact, if you discount his recurring cameo appearances in The Expendables, then the actor hasn’t done a direct follow-up to any of his other movies since 1984’s Conan the Destroyer.

Of course, that hasn’t stopped people from making them without his involvement, with sequels to Predator, Kindergarten Cop, Jingle All the Way and Escape Plan arriving over the last two decades, while continuations of Total Recall, Twins and True Lies were all in the works at various points before eventually coming to nothing.

Schwarzenegger had been offered a role in Predator 2, Predators and The Predator, but turned each one of them them down, even though fans would have loved to have seen an

TVLine Items: Conan the Barbarian Series, Batwoman Adds Zsasz and More
Netflix is eyeing a barbaric new series: The streamer is developing a live-action drama based on the Conan the Barbarian character created by writer Robert E. Howard, our sister site Deadline reports. The project does not yet have a writer/showrunner attached to it.

A series about the fantasy icon was previously in development at Amazon in 2018. And of course, Conan has already appeared on screens both big and small in a number of forms, most famously in the films Conan the Barbarian (1982) and Conan the Destroyer (1984), both of which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. Conan also got a big-screen reboot in

Conan the Barbarian TV Show Is Happening at Netflix

Conan the Barbarian TV Show Is Happening at Netflix
Conan is making a comeback, this time on a streaming service. Netflix is currently developing a Conan the Barbarian TV show, which will center on the classic character created by Robert E. Howard in live-action. While details remain somewhat scarce at the moment, this series could be just the beginning of a new franchise at Netflix.

According to a new report, Fredrik Malmberg and Mark Wheeler's Pathfinder Media has made a deal with Netflix to produce the Conan the Barbarian TV series. It is also said to be the first in a deal with Conan Properties International. Under the deal, Netflix has the exclusive rights to obtain the rights to the entire Conan library. This would mean that the company could develop further movies and TV shows, both of the animated and live-action variety, should they so choose.

For now, they have this first project to focus on. No

Conan the Barbarian TV Series Set for Netflix

Conan the Barbarian TV Series Set for Netflix
Conan the Barbarian is coming to Netflix…and we don’t mean its movie archive! Rather, the streaming giant is moving forward with a live-action television series adapting the swords, sorcery and loincloths-laden mythos created by Robert E. Howard, famously depicted as comic book art from Barry Windsor-Smith and cemented in history as portrayed onscreen by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Pathfinder Media, of Fredrik Malmberg and Mark Wheeler, have conceived the Conan television project, which has been put into development by Netflix, according to Deadline. The project stems from a deal between Netflix and IP owner Conan Properties International, yielding the streaming giant exclusive rights to the multimedia archives—be it books, television and films—to adapt as new works. Indeed, it’s a strategy that mirrors widely-encompassing exclusive deals Netflix made in recent years to produce serial adaptations of author Roald Dahl’s work, and comic book titles under Mark Millar’s Millarworld branding.

‘Conan the Barbarian’ TV Series in the Works at Netflix

‘Conan the Barbarian’ TV Series in the Works at Netflix
A live-action TV series based on “Conan the Barbarian” is in development at Netflix, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

The project is from Fredrik Malmberg and Mark Wheeler’s Pathfinder Media. It is the first in a deal between Netflix and Conan Properties International, which is owned by Malmberg’s Cabinet Entertainment. The two will serve as executive producers.

The series does not have a writer/showrunner or director yet. A search for those roles is underway.

Conan the Barbarian is based on the character by Robert E. Howard, who introduced the sword-wielding fighter in a series of short stories that were first published in 1932.

The character has been adapted in numerous forms, most famously by Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1982’s “Conan the Barbarian,” which was his first major role and rocketed him to international fame. He again played the character in the 1984 sequel, “Conan the Destroyer.

Conan The Barbarian TV Series In Works At Netflix

Conan The Barbarian TV Series In Works At Netflix
Exclusive: Netflix has put in development an epic live-action series based on Conan, the iconic sword-and-sorcery character created by writer Robert E. Howard, I have learned.

I hear the project, from Fredrik Malmberg and Mark Wheeler’s Pathfinder Media, is the first in a deal between Netflix and Conan Properties International, owned by Malmberg’s Cabinet Entertainment. The pact gives Netflix the exclusive option to acquire rights to the Conan literary library and develop works across TV and film, both live-action and animated.

The move would fit into Netflix’s strategy of acquiring globally recognizable IP to build an universe of films and TV series, including Roald Dahl’s novels, The Chronicles of Narnia books and comics publisher Millarworld.

A search is currently underway for a writer/showrunner to pen the Conan adaptation and director to helm the project. Malmberg and Wheeler will serve as executive producers on the potential series through their Pathfinder Media.

Dolph Lundgren Shares The Hilarious Prank Arnold Schwarzenegger Pulled On Him

Dolph Lundgren Shares The Hilarious Prank Arnold Schwarzenegger Pulled On Him
When you think of the glory days of the action movie in the 1980s when the genre was populated by larger-than-life heroes that favored biceps and brawn in favor of smarts or subtlety, then you’d be forgiven for thinking that many of the actors that built their reputation in the realm of straightforward shoot-em’-ups don’t have much between the ears.

However, despite what their well-established screen personas would suggest, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren in particular are far from one-dimensional musclebound lunkheads. As well as becoming the biggest movie star in the world, Schwarzenegger is a hugely successful businessman, investor and entrepreneur that was already a millionaire before he even got into acting as well as a humanitarian and philanthropist, and that’s without even mentioning his stint as the Governor of California.

Lundgren may not have hit the same heights career-wise as his Expendables co-star, but

Star Wars Fan Posters Imagine a Lando Trilogy with Jean-Claude Van Damme as Darth Maul
Billy Dee Williams finally made his welcome return to the Star Wars galaxy in last year's The Rise of Skywalker, but what about getting the beloved character a solo movie? It hasn't happened and, so far as we know, it's not something Lucasfilm has on the table. At least not yet. But thanks to some new fan posters, we have a look at how cool a Lando movie trilogy could have been.

During quarantine I imagined we lived in a world where we had a Lando Calrissian spin-off series pic.twitter.com/6MDe7hrXYX

Artist Peter Stults decided to make use of some of his downtime during this period of social distancing and self-isolation by crafting a series of posters for what he dubbed the Calrissian Chronicles. The posters are very reminiscent, stylistically, of the 80s VHS art for the original Star Wars trilogy. That is suiting,

Linda Hamilton Didn't Want to Work with Arnold Schwarzenegger on The Terminator in 1984

David Crow Oct 24, 2019

Linda Hamilton reveals she didn't want to work with Arnold Schwarzenegger when he was first suggested for The Terminator.

As it turns out, maybe there is a reason Sarah Connor was so convincing when she ran from the T-800 in the original 1984 The Terminator. At least that is one way to view Linda Hamilton’s confession on The Graham Norton Show that she initially didn't want to work with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The news came when the pair appeared on the British television talk show to promote their long overdue onscreen reunion in Terminator: Dark Fate. As Norton reveals in the exclusive clip below, Linda Hamilton had major reservations about working with “the Austrian Oak,” as Schwarzenegger was known at the time.

“Yeah, not at all,” Hamilton said about whether she wanted to work with the man who would become the T-800. “Only because I was a snotty New York actress,

Arnold Schwarzenegger Says He’s Talked About King Conan With Original Director

It’s no secret that Arnold Schwarzenegger is keen on returning to the role of Conan the Barbarian, having shown an interest in an Old Man Conan story as recently as February this year. Nothing really came of that, unfortunately, but apparently, Schwarzenegger met with the 1982 Conan the Barbarian movie director John Milius at Silicon Valley Comic-Con the other week, where they discussed the latter’s King Conan screenplay.

A third film in the Conan franchise, discounting his appearance in Red Sonja and the Jason Momoa reboot, has been around since the 1980s, and a King Conan script since the early 2000s. However, Schwarzenegger was unable to commit to it due to his political career. Posting a photo of himself on Instagram with Milius at the Con though, the actor admitted:

“Yes, I talked to him about his King Conan script”

The script apparently features a 70-year-old Conan as a ruler,

Schwarzenegger Talks King Conan Script with Original Director John Milius

Schwarzenegger Talks King Conan Script with Original Director John Milius
Arnold Schwarzenegger recently reunited with Conan the Barbarian director John Milius, and the two apparently spoke about the next potential movie King Conan. In a new image posted on Instagram, Schwarzenegger is shown frollicking with Milius at Silicon Valley Comic-Con. "Yes, I talked to him about his King Conan script," the actor says in the caption, apparently knowing fans were definitely going to ask. Of course, Schwarzenegger stops short of revealing anything about the script or the status of its potential to see the light of day, but the photo does keep the hope alive that we'll one day get the proper Conan sequel fans of the franchise deserve.

The relationship between Arnold Schwarzenegger and John Milius dates all the way back to the early '80s. It was certainly Schwarzenegger's breakout role as the titular warrior in Conan the Barbarian in 1982, which Milius had directed and co-written with Oliver Stone.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Wants An Old Man Conan Movie

Even though Arnold Schwarzenegger is at the ripe ol’ age of 69, he’s still very much a busy actor. Indeed, the Austrian-American superstar has been toiling away at this year’s highly anticipated Terminator: Dark Fate. The sequel finally sees him reuniting with both veteran filmmaker James Cameron, and his former co-star Linda Hamilton. However, that’s not to say that he’s finished with all his other iconic franchises. Case in point: the Conan The Barbarian series.

That’s right, Arnie has allegedly been trying his best to get a sequel to 1982’s Conan The Barbarian and 1984’s Conan The Destroyer off the ground. Back in 2016, The Austrian Oak insisted that a script had already been written. The project was tentatively named The Legend Of Conan or Conan The Conqueror and would see the Hollywood A-lister, “sitting on the throne for years and years – decades, and then all of the sudden,

Arnold Schwarzenegger Explains the Frustrations of Why a New Conan Film Hasn't Happened

There’s been an awesome concept for a new Conan movie floating around for awhile. That concept is for a film called Legend of Conan, and it came from screenwriter Chris Morgan.

The film would be a sequel to the classic 1982 film which left off with an older King Conan sitting on his throne, deep in thought, wearing the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon his brow. This film is nowhere near getting made at this point and that’s because of rights issues.

Arnold still wants to reprise his role, and in a recent interview with The Arnold Fans he explains the why the film is being held up and is certainly sounds frustrating:

“When it comes to the movie, the sad stuff about all of this is when there’s an estate like this…The Robert E. Howard estate…when someone buys these rights, those people now own the

Schwarzenegger Really Wants to Return as King Conan: Let's Do It
Perhaps don't get your hopes up too high, but Arnold Schwarzenegger still wants to make The Legend of Conan, or at least that's what it was being called at one point or another. In any event, it would be the third movie in his Conan series that would see the iconic action star returning to the role decades later in sort of an "Old Man Conan" take on the material. While the project may not have any life officially, as far as we know, Schwarzenegger is still game.

Marvel recently released the first issue of their new comic Conan the Barbarian #1, which comes from Jason Aaron (The Mighty Thor) and Mahmud Asrar. Arnold Schwarzenegger took to Twitter to share his excitement and love for the book, which features him back in his glory days as Conan on the cover. At the end of the brief video, after gushing over the book.

Review: ‘Skyscraper’ is a Self-Aware Homage to Genre Classics

In an age of remakes, reboots, and rehashes, it’s suddenly become refreshing to see homage — especially the self-aware kind. If you’ve seen the alternate posters for Rawson Marshall Thurber’s Skyscraper that crib off the designs of Die Hard and The Towering Inferno, you understand how the filmmakers have embraced comparison due to their love for those genre classics. It’s this love that allows them to take a step back and create their own story in those images, at once honoring the past, updating for the present, and creating something wholly new. Nobody going to see the comedic-minded Thurber’s foray into straight dramatic thrills is doing so with the intent to be blown away by anything more than the special effects, crazy stunts, and tailor-made sets for mayhem.

And he delivers all three from start to finish with Will Sawyer (Dwayne Johnson) at center. A retired
