Ugly Sweater Party Trailer Turns the Holidays Into a Bloodbath

Ugly Sweater Party Trailer Turns the Holidays Into a Bloodbath
Ugly Christmas sweaters have really become a holiday cliche over the past decade, and parties devoted to the vomitous yuletide tops are nearly unavoidable. So of course this conceit has been turned into a horror movie. Today, we have the exclusive first look trailer for Ugly Sweater Party, and if you enjoy a little bit of blood and guts with your eggnog, then this will put a huge giant smile on your face.

In Ugly Sweater Party, the most hideous of all knitted pullovers has become possessed. And it's deterred to turn one December shindig into a bright red bloodbath. The ugly holiday sweater takes hold of one partygoer, causing him to go on a deranged slaughter fest. And it's a gruesome sight to behold.

Perhaps the coolest thing about the movie is that Sleepaway Camp star and cult favorite Felissa Rose is back and wearing her own godawful sweater for the holidays.

Why the ‘Sleepaway Camp’ Ending Will Still Mess You Up 35 Years Later

For about 95% of its runtime, the 1983 slasher flick Sleepaway Camp operates as an oddly bloodless, weirdly sexless, overall kind of annoying ripoff of Friday the 13th. Writer and director Robert Hiltzik mines little tension from his story of a youth summer camp besieged by a killer dumping boiling water on pervy camp cooks and stabbing counselors in the shower, Psycho-style. It's all very rote and by-the-bloody-books until the film's final minute, when a last-second twist, wonky special effects, and general what-in-the-fuck-ness combine into one of the most …

Felissa Rose to Executive Produce Angela: The Official Sleepaway Camp Documentary

  • DailyDead
The weather may be getting colder outside, but that doesn't mean horror fans can't have summer camp on their minds. And when it comes to summer camp horror movies, if you treasure the Sleepaway Camp franchise alongside the likes of Friday the 13th and The Burning, then you're in for a real treat, because a new documentary on the Sleepaway Camp movies is in development, with Angela herself, Felissa Rose, on board as an executive producer.

Bloody Disgusting exclusively shared the news that Angela: The Official Sleepaway Camp Documentary is "in the works" at Michael Perez Entertainment.

Expected to be four hours long, Angela: The Official Sleepaway Camp Documentary will look at the making of the four finished films in the franchise: Sleepaway Camp, Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers, Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland, and Return to Sleepaway Camp (there's no word yet if the unfinished Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor

Halloween Writer Thinks Phantasm Is Due For A Revival

Horror is making money hand over fist right now and you have to imagine that anyone with the rights to a beloved classic horror franchise might be looking at Danny McBride and David Gordon Green’s soft reboot/continuation of Halloween with envious eyes.

Speaking of which, in a Reddit Ama, McBride was asked which franchise he’d like to see back on the big screen and he picked a stone cold cult classic: Phantasm. For those not familiar with the series, it begins with Don Coscarelli’s 1979 original, in which evil undertaker the Tall Man is transforming Earth’s dead into dwarf zombies that will be sent to his planet and used for slave labour (it makes more sense in context!).

Despite landing to mixed reviews, time has been kind to its charms, with contemporary critics praising the film’s surreal narrative and imagery. It eventually did well enough to merit four sequels,

Class of 88: Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers – The Height of Glorious 80s Trash

  • DailyDead
Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers is actually the first movie in the Sleepaway Camp franchise that I’d ever seen. The VHS cover art lured me in as a kid by teasing possible appearances from iconic villains, with Freddy’s glove and Jason’s hockey mask poking out of a woman’s backpack. I was a bit too young to understand the concept of trademarks at that age, so you can imagine my disappointment when neither character made so much as a cameo. Since I hadn’t seen the first film and didn’t have any context for the franchise as a whole (or that twist), I just thought of the movie as low-budget trash.

As I’ve grown older, however, I’ve discovered that low-budget trash can be a lovely thing. And I think it’s important to distinguish trash from “so bad they’re good” movies like Troll 2

If You Liked ‘Friday the 13th,’ Then You’ll Love ‘Sleepaway Camp’

As I’m watching my way through the Friday the 13th movies in preparation of this week’s own Friday the 13th, one of the aspects of the series that I really latched onto – at least early in its life cycle – was just how different it was compared to other slasher movies being produced in the wake of John Carpenter’s seminal Halloween (1978). You see, Friday the 13th (1980) came out a mere two year’s after Michael Meyers’ cinematic debut, in a nebulous sort of environment where all of the pieces that would eventually become codified into the slasher subgenre

Sleepaway Camp Midnights This Weekend at The Moolah

“If she were any quieter, she’d be dead!”

Sleepaway Camp (1983) screens Midnights this weekend (June 1st and 2nd) at The Moolah Theater and Lounge as part of Destroy the Brain’s monthly Late Nite Grindhouse film series.

Sleepaway Camp is a classic slasher flick from the ’80’s that makes no bones about what it is: sleazy exploitation fun for all! Basically, you get a camp full of teens and jerks together and most everyone’s gonna die! Some grisly death too, like boiling in water, stung by a swarm of bees, and my favorite – the curling iron to the crotch! The plot may sound like a conventional Friday the 13th-style knock-off, and it is, but Sleepaway Camp has one of crazier endings I’ve seen, one I will not spoil for anyone. Lets just say that if you ever kissed a girl at camp that you didn’t really know that well,

‘Death House’ Interview: Tony Moran

With the highly- anticipated horror Death House being released in cinemas, I got a chance to ask with actor Tony Moran about how he got involved with the film, what we can expect and what it was like working on Death House.

How did you first get into acting?

I actually got into it when I was 9yrs old. did one commercial, hated it and quit. the same agent I had at 9yrs kept asking me throughout growing up to get back in, when I was 19yrs I decided to get back in.

You are known for playing the face of Michael Myers in the original Halloween series, with Nick Castle credited as The Shape. With Nick Castle returning for the new Halloween reboot, is there a chance that you could be returning as well?

Not on this one I don’t think.

You play Miguel in the upcoming horror film Death House.

Victor Crowley – Review

Review by Mark Longden

Fans of slasher cinema will probably be aware that this is the fourth movie in the “Hatchet” series, written or directed or both by Adam Green. He’s been going for a while, making TV (Fear.Net’s “Holliston”, and a few horror documentary shows) and movies – a handful of thrillers and short films, as well as this.

Hatchet” is a comedy-horror series about Victor Crowley, a deformed fellow who lives in the swamps outside New Orleans, and kills people with a…well, you know. If you’re like me, and this is your first toe dipped into the waters of Mr Green and his cinematic universe, well, I don’t think there’s a lot of backstory to worry about. Large mute monster, completely indestructible, laughs, gore, slasher movies. So let’s get into it!

As you might be able to guess from the name,

Sundance 2018 Review: Hereditary is a Confidently Crafted Domestic Nightmare

  • DailyDead
Evil has taken root in the residence of the Graham family in Hereditary, the stunning feature film directorial debut from Ari Aster that’s one-half supernatural spook show, one-half psychological horror, one hundred percent an exercise in nerve-shredding terror. Anchored by incredible performances from Toni Collette (who is working on a level here that is simply beyond any of us mere mortals), Alex Wolff, Gabriel Byrne, and Milly Shapiro, Hereditary is an intimately crafted domestic nightmare in which family ties are wound so tightly, the results are a violently unexpected descent into literal madness and blood-soaked mayhem.

At the start of Hereditary, the Graham family is bidding Annie’s (Collette) mother farewell after she passes away, but not everyone is grieving her death. Odd duck Charlie (Shapiro) misses her grandmother deeply (their unique bond is hinted at later on in the film, and man, is it ever disturbing), but the
