Sex & Nudity

  • There is sexual content, nudity and dialogue which, although not very explicit, involve a fairly perverted 12 years-old boy, who kind of harasses his babysitter, a young woman about twice his age, and makes advances towards her. The boy's interest in his babysitter, and in grown women and sexuality in general, is a main theme in the first half of the movie. Some people could find this unsettling and disturbing.
  • A 12 years-old boy asks a young woman to wash his back and she agrees. We see the boy's bare chest while he is in the bathtub as the woman rubs his back from outside the tub. Meanwhile the boy confesses his love for her, and asks her "do you like washing me?". She is upset and leaves.
  • A 12 years-old boy tricks a woman to strip in front of a window as he watches her and takes photographs (she does not know that the one who's watching her is a kid). We briefly see her bare breasts as she takes her leotard down.
  • A teenage boy and a teenage girl go swim in a lake. She asks him is she wants to go "skinny dipping" (swim naked) and he refuses. The girl is wearing a bikini and the boy is in his boxers. The girl's bare breasts are seen as she takes off the top of her bikini. The actress was the director's daughter.
  • A young woman is sleeping with her shirt partially unbuttoned and one of her nipples is shown as a 12 years-old boy watches her.
  • We see a young woman's bare thighs and pantyshot under a table. A 12 years-old boy purposely goes under the table to watch her.
  • A 12 years-old boy enters a bathroom as a young woman is taking a shower and writes "I love you" on the mirror, creeping her out. Her back and side boob are partially seen as she is showering. She then comes out of the bathroom wearing a towel to scold the boy.
  • A young woman wears a see-through shirt, and her bare thighs and the side of her breasts are seen. A 12 years-old boy stares at her chest.
  • A young woman and her boyfriend kiss in a car.
  • A young woman flirts with her boyfriend on the telephone.
  • A boy tells his babysitter that his mother washes him a lot, but that it isn't to make him clean. He tells her that he doesn't always feel dirty afterwards. The babysitter finds this awkward and creepy so she leaves.

Violence & Gore

  • The second half of the movie involves a boy pushing many people down a pit with 5 troll-like monsters living in it. The victims vary from a little girl, to teenagers, and one old disabled woman. They are seen falling in the pit, but the actual killing and eating is usually not heard and always offscreen; however, a couple of exceptions do involve gory imagery (see below). The boy also plans to feed the monsters a living cow and chickens, but gives up as unable to catch them and bringing them to the pit. The monsters are later set free by the boy, and kill several people on their way.
  • A young woman falls in the pit by accident. A boy tries to help her, but she ends up being eaten by the monsters. We see a few bloody glimpses of them eating her flesh, as well as pieces of meat all around.
  • The monsters are seen attacking two people and later on eating them. We see large bloody bites on the victims' severed arms as they chew, and many corpses and pieces of flesh everywhere.
  • A group of men shoot the monsters with rifles, killing them (we see blood on their fur).
  • Two policemen find a dead body with a large bloody scratch on the back.
  • A young girl pushes a boy into the pit.
  • There is a theme of bullying in the movie. A 12 years-old boy is mistreated and laughed at by many people, both kids and adults. A teenager is seen punching him.
  • We see a butcher cutting large pieces of meat in his shop.

Profanity

  • None except some name-calling (stupid, weird, crazy).
  • A man says "Damn".
  • A young man says "Oh my God".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This movie is generally neither very bloody nor scary, but is still creepy as it involves violent acts committed by a 12 years-old boy, who feeds people to monsters. The theme of the movie might frighten and impress negatively children and kids. The sexual contents are creepy as well.
  • The few scenes which depict the monsters eating their victims onscreen are rather bloody and might impress some viewers.
  • The scene where a young woman accidentally falls in the pit and is eaten by the monsters is distressing.
  • The ending can be surprising or intense to some people.
  • The troll-like monsters' appearance and noises might scare young children.
  • The scenes where a teddy bear talks and moves its head might scare very young children.
  • Jamie is implied to be severely disturbed. He has multiple imaginary friends, none of which are benevolent, and he's often perverted and annoying. He kicks toys, bothers younger children and eventually murders his enemies.
