NBC had campaigned a pre-must see TV at NBC experimenting with sheer high concept fare as programming like "Knight Rider" and the "A Team" shows to see what would stick in their programming line-up. TV Guide ranked "Manimal" #15 on their list of 50 worst TV Shows of all time in 2002. See more »

Man and Animal: Manimal!
26 September 1999 | by genius-15See all my reviews

This show didn't last too long, but it had a hillarious plot. I loved the scenes where MacCorkindale would turn into a black panther, because writers felt it was somehow vital to the story!!! But in all seriousness, it wasn't any worse than the prime time soap operas and junk dramas (Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere) of the early 80s, and probably deserved more of a chance. Of course an NYU Zoology professor turning into animals was a bit strange (He even turned into a bull once during a rowdy kidnapping) but it was also cool. Melody Anderson and Michael Gregory added some nice mood lifters too.
