Storyline

A pair of evil gung-fu artists, Heaven and Earth, are slaughtering the entire Yin-Yang brotherhood. The movie opens with two members of the brotherhood and their two male children being chased by Heaven, Earth, and miscellaneous bad guys. The two members get away separately with their children. Twenty years later, we see Chan Lung (Jackie Chan) as he hunts frogs and snakes and keeps them in his pants. You learn he was one of the boys. The other is a lazy man who uses windmill-driven levers to deliver things to and from bedside, even a chamberpot and breakfast. Eventually, their respective paternal figures are killed, and they are forced to fight Heaven and Earth. Written by Michael Capps <capps@cs.unc.edu>

Trivia

When movie Producer Willie Chan left the Lo Wei Motion Picture Company to join Golden Harvest, he advised Jackie Chan to decide for himself whether or not to stay with Wei Lo. Chan began work on the movie, but then broke his contract and joined Golden Harvest. This prompted Lo to blackmail him with Triads, and to blame Willie Chan for his star's departure. The dispute was resolved with the help of fellow actor and Director Jimmy Wang Yu, allowing Chan to stay with Golden Harvest. In order to complete the movie, Lo hired stunt doubles to take Chan's place in the remainder of the movie, and used alternative takes and re-used footage from the first movie. Chan mentions that the end product of the movie was so bad, that he even tried to stop it from being released by going to court, but Lo released it regardless. See more »

patched together Low Wei junk
27 June 2006 | by winner55See all my reviews

There some good bits pieced together from outtakes and other films; but this is not Fearless Hyena II, there IS no fearless Hyena II.

After Jackie Chan finally got out of his contract with Lo Wei, Lo Wei too the le4ft-overs from Chan's last film with Lo Wei's production company (fearless Hyena, obviously), which Chan himself had written and directed, and pasted it together with no rhyme or reason other than to make some extra dough.

A more cynical hack than Lo Wei could hardly be imagined.

Fearless Hyena is an excellent film.

This "II" thing - total junk. Skip it.
