Cheech Marin said of this movie: "The answer is that these guys . . . these characters we play . . . are like monks. Or samurai. They shouldn't have material possessions because that only screws up their karma or gets them ripped off". Out of that premise came a 3 ½ page script. Why 3 ½ pages? "Because it was double-spaced" answered Cheech. Chong replied: "He's putting you on. The reason for 3 ½ pages is so that we can budget the picture. Some versions delete the scene with Chong and Donna while Cheech hangs from the balcony. The scene jumps from when Cheech first goes over the railing to when he is trying to manuever his way to the elevator. Missing is when he discovers that the man at the door is Chong, that the patio door is now locked and what Chong and Donna do with the ice. See more »
These guys are great, from the records to the live shows to their movies. This movie has some great scenes, the scene's with Pee Wee and Timothy Leary. The look of the film dates it perfectly. I've liked this movie since the first time I saw it 10 years ago. Everyone I know loves Cheech and Chong. 2 THUMBS UP ^^
