The thrilling adventures of "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA" continue in Part Two of "Galactica Discovers Earth, " when Commander Adama (Lorne Greene) dispatches two young pilots, Capt. Troy (Kent McCord) and Lieut. Dillon (Barry Van Dyke) to the planet Earth.
Troy and Dillon leap back with Jamie to 1944 to stop Xaviar's attempt to help the development of the V-2 rocket at Peenemunde. Later they return to 1980 CA but need to secure their impounded Vipers from U.S. military inspection.
Troy and Dillon are teaching some of the children raised on the Galactica about what they can expect on Earth if and when they get to go there. But when their vessel is attacked by the Cylons, they escape. But because they can't make it back to the Galactica, they decide to land on Earth. So they try to make the children appear to be like children on Earth. They dress them as scouts and Troy and Dillon pretend to be scout masters. Their landing is detected by the Air Force, so a Colonel shows up to investigate.
When three of the children Troy and Dillon brought to Earth get sick after drinking some water from a lake. The doctor who treats them says that the water was polluted with a toxic waste which was dumped by a corporation. The doctor says there's nothing he can do for them but Troy asks him to keep alive because he plans to call the Galactica for help. When Dr. Zee learns of what happened he decides to go to Earth himself, which Adama objects to. But Zee insists and goes.
Treacherous Xaviar, the renegade Galactican, in disguise sends Troy and Dillon on a phony mission, so that he can take as hostage the earthbound Galactican children who Jamie has entered in what turns out to be a hilarious, out-of-this-world charity baseball game, on "Galactica 1980".
Earthbound Troy and Dillon rush to the East Coast to intercept what they believe to be a downed Galactican spacecraft, but find that it is really the first ship of the treacherous Cylons to locate the lost human civilization they want to destroy, in "Galactica 1980".
The planet's future hangs in the balance when Troy and Dillon alert Galactica that they are pursuing two enemy Cylons bent on commandeering a powerful New York City broadcasting facility to transmit earth's location to their hostile forces in space, which could lead to the destruction of Earth on "Galactica 1980".
