Horses are still depicted as the main means of travel and transport, with only a single motor vehicle appearing and a fire engine being horse-drawn. By 1911, motor cars had already vastly replaced horses in most major cities on the East Coast and certainly in New York City as automobiles are present in abundance in 1911-era photos of NYC.
At one point two of the ladies working in the factory visit a nickelodeon (early term for a movie theater) and watch a movie starring Charles Chaplin. This film is set in 1911; Chaplin didn't make his first film until 1914 and would have been completely unknown in America in 1911.
Ton Bosley plays Morris Feldman and Olivia Barash plays his daughter, Ruth. At one point Bosley addresses her as "Olivia" instead of "Ruth".
