- Two girls travel to Torquay in Devon from the North of England to work as chamber maids for the summer. They meet two boys, also in Torquay for the summer, one of whom (Winstone) is entered in the "round the bay" swimming race. They have a run in with a gang of Scottish lads, one of whom (Morrison) is also entered into the swimming race. Various confrontations ensue with Morrison and his friends framing Winstone for a robbery in a chemists shop. Winstone is arrested just as he is about to start the race. He escapes from the police and follows Morrison into the water, catches him up, forces him to confess to framing him and then goes on to win the race.—Chris Duddle
- I fully planned to follow the synopsis editing policy, but if you've read the existing plot summary, then you already know pretty much the entire story. The summary has covered everything worth knowing including how the story ends. How such a summary got by imdb review is quite a mystery since no one I know can quite get away with pulling that off. I am now going to add some lines to fill out the synopsis to the required ten lines demanded by imdb, because as I've already mentioned, the plot summary has indeed told us everything and there's nothing of significant importance to add. I counted the lines that I wrote which totaled eleven on the page I was given to write a detailed synopsis, but a preview of the page triggered an error message indicating I hadn't yet written 10 lines??? So, once again, since the plot summary covered the entire story board, including the ending and even spoilers, anyone can see there's not much left to include in a synopsis, and filling in even ten lines seems rather ludicrous... Not leaving me anything of significance to write a synopsis with is hardly my fault and would not constitute a justifiable reason for losing the privilege of writing or editing a future synopsis.
