A drunken no-talent Max Baer ruined a good script.
27 January 2017 | by jesse3See all my reviews

Allowing Max" Baer to direct HOMETOWN was the mistake of a lifetime. I was signed with Jack Nicolson's agent at the time -- as a writer. They loved the script. Max Baer offered to shoot the film immediately and cut me in on one third of the profits. It seemed attractive at the time. I consented, and it was the number one mistake of my life. This drunken, obnoxious no-talent buffoon screamed at the actors for not being more like he was as Jethro in "The Beverly Hillbillies". He turned out to be a drunken no-class ape that disgusted cast and crew alike. To this day I have never known a more dishonest, lying, cheating criminal than Max Baer Jr. His crass, misogynist, woman beating ways soon became known to the town. People soon learned that he threw his ex-wife threw a plate glass window, broke Donna Cheney's arm when he found out that she was having an affair with an actor, was physically ejected from the Playboy Mansion in 1978 for tirelessly groping women, his live-in supposedly committed suicide by shooting herself in the stomach several years ago, and on and on ad-infinitum. He is the worst person that I have ever met in my lifetime -- with no close seconds.
