Ritchie Donovan is a professional thief whose luck has just run out. The only survivor from a heist that goes terribly wrong, Ritchie is forced to take the rap and is sent to Russia to steal a priceless antique cross locked in a safe on the penthouse floor of a Moscow skyscraper. Things start badly and go rapidly downhill when, during the robbery, Ritchie and his Russian accomplices are forced to take hostages because they are trapped by the police on the unused 13th floor.Written by

[seeing Peter holding the severed head of the hostage]
Where's the rest of him Peter?
He's back there where we came in. And don't fucking look at me like that! I did not do it!
Who did it then?
It's obvious, fucking pigs! They must not have liked your demands.
I didn't make any demands! What do you think I'm fucking stupid? Police don't kill hostages you idiot! Why, why'd you do it?
Have you lost your mind? Listen, I take him to lift, the doors open, big scissors, head comes off, here it is!

what's the fuss about?
i don't understand the fuss that people who disliked this movie are making. it is definitely NOT a waste of time if you take it for what it is - simple entertainment in the b to c movie category. the story is linear and leaves place for 90 minutes of hilarious slapstick-gore. the acting wasn't great, but not that bad, either, some of the actors are familiar from movies like blade, layer cake or dog soldiers. the music actually was really nice, with some cliché-Russian polka songs running along the funny chasing scenes. i'm pretty sure the b movie feeling is fully intended, for there are enough people that actually cherish this kind of movie.
altogether, if you don't mind simple down-to-earth entertainment with a little gore once in a while, you might risk watching the movie. otherwise leave it.
