Trivia

After getting a cast, the direction was entrusted to Biagio Proietti, but after a week of various misunderstandings, he was ousted from the project. Ciro Ippolito therefore proposed the film to Mario Bava. However, Bava was already busy with another film and advised Ippolito to assume the role of director for Alien 2. Ippolito replaced Proietti a few days later, under the pseudonym "Sam Cromwell", which marked his directorial debut. See more »

Strange and gory movie
21 April 2000 | by alfonsohinojosaSee all my reviews

This is an odd one. Although the story is a little short on logic, it stands on its own due to the gory effects, which are sometimes extremely bloody. As with all the Italian-made films, the acting is not very good, and the camera is sometimes amateurish, but it compensates with plenty of gore, good cavern sets and a good score, not to mention the tag line, which is either going to make you frown or laugh.
