As Courtois is reading a financial newspaper, Homecourt tells him : "Don't waste your eyes, it's the only thing you've got left". Then Courtois removes his glasses and Homecourt tells him "T'as de beaux yeux, tu sais", the famous french line told by Jean Gabin to Michèle Morgan in "Quai des brumes".
