Did You Know?

Trivia

Ben Burtt created the sound of Darth Vader's breathing by placing a small microphone in the second stage (mouthpiece) of a scuba regulator, and then recording the sound made by his breathing through the regulator. See more »

Goofs

Most of the times, when Luke or Ben ignite or deactivate a lightsaber, the saber is not shown igniting or deactivating; just the sound effect his heard. And the times when it IS shown, even though it is supposed to be one shot, the character or his/her body part is in a slightly different location after the weapon is ignited than before the weapon is ignited, indicating two separate shots. C-3PO: Did you hear that? They shut down the main reactor. We'll be destroyed for sure. This is madness.

Crazy Credits

To compensate for the new special edition credits inserted in versions 1997 and beyond, a longer instrumental suite plays during the credits roll, integrating various themes from throughout the film. See more »

Alternate Versions

The subtitles for the Han and Jabba scene have been altered slightly for the DVD. Originally, the phrases "twenty percent" and "fifteen percent" are spelled out. In the DVD, they are abbreviated as "20%" and "15%," to save space, since the typeface used for the captions is larger than that used in the theatrical version. See more »

The ultimate fairytale or the ultimate soap...
29 July 1998 | by alanjSee all my reviews

One of my all time favorite movies comes with lots of baggage and unappreciative friends. The fairytale wrapped up as SciFi rewrote the cinema handbook for this type of movie. > The sequels lived up to the promise but will the prequels still catch the imagination 20 years later?
