Scenes in the Caffe Reggio are shot in the exact same spots as "Shaft" and "The Godfather II". There's a Franz Kline painting in the Dr.'s office. Director Mazursky plays a director in the casting scene. Bill Murray has a couple scenes as a crowd extra. Rashel Novikoff as Mrs. Tupperman was a favorite actress of Woody Allen. A heavily made-up, uncredited Woody plays the old love-poem seller, Jake, in the early bar scene.
