Storyline

A mad scientist (and apparent former Nazi) unleashes his master plan: to transform himself into a mutated walking catfish, gain revenge on those who have spurned him, and kidnap nubile young women to similarly transform so that he can breed. Trivia

Originally, the film was supposed to include scenes of gigantic catfish destroying the countryside. Footage of the walking catfish on miniature landscapes was too hokey. One shot made it into the film; a catfish squirms next to a miniature fence during one sequence. See more »

Alternate Versions

For its 1999 airing on Mystery Science Theater 3000, Zaat (shown under the title Blood Waters of Dr. Z) was heavily edited. Among the numerous scenes cut were further scenes of the INPIT agents, Dr. Leopold disposing of his victim in a vat of acid, scenes of the locals evacuating, and one bizarre scene where a band of singing hippies is taken to the jail by the Sheriff. This movie stinks like Fisherman's Wharf!
20 July 2000 | by coverme6See all my reviews

"Zaat," or "Blood Waters of Dr. Z," as it is more well known, is

a really horrendous excuse for a horror movie I've ever seen!

This movie stole elements from other movies just to make a good

cut, and as it turned out, the result is not very good!

Dr. Leopold is a lonely scientist who can't seem to get a date.

So what does he do to solve this problem? He uses special hydro

chemicals to turn himself into a giant catfish monster and grabs

unsuspecting babes that are swimming in some nearby waters!

Those doesn't seem to be bad ideas, except the fact that he has

to become a fish monster! Watch out for the scene where Dr.

Leopold strips down to his boxers! It's one nauseating glimpse

of one horn
