Trivia

The scene in which a train derailment is observed in the film was not part of the original shooting script but is in fact an actual train that derailed; when the director heard about this he wanted to incorporate it into the film. See more »

Goofs

The Cadillac Eldorado driven into Pace's garage has the license plate number 561 DUW, but the car burned (supposed to be the same vehicle) has the license number 08 FBV. This is due to a better condition car being used for beauty shots and a condemned fire-damaged car being burned. See more »

Quotes

[looking at a car Corlis and Atlee have just stolen]
Hawkins: What's this?
Maindrian Pace: A Cadillac.
Hawkins: What's wrong with it?
Maindrian Pace: Oh, it's, er, theft recovery.

Crazy Credits

The opening credits stop after only one acting credit: "Eleanor." See more »

Alternate Versions

The sound of the gunshot when the Long Beach officer shoots at Maindrian just before the Mustang takes out the open door of a stopped vehicle (next to the burning cars at the Carson St off-ramp) has been removed from the DVD release, making it appear that the officer is merely threatening Maindrian with the weapon, rather than shooting. Also removed are three words spoken by the Torrance PD sergeant through the bullhorn at Torrance Mazda. His original dialog, "This is the police, this is an emergency! Please clear the area, please clear the area! Come on, man!" loses the "come on, man" which is replaced with an echo of "area". Furthermore, Bud Wackeen is dubbed in the DVD release. See more »

A Real Independent Film
27 June 2001 | by RamblerSee all my reviews

In this day of "so called" independent film making, the majority of

which is backed by big studio money and ruined by the meddling

of "suits", it's so refreshing to see a truly independent film! "Gone

In 60 Seconds" was written, produced, directed and distributed by

the same man, H.B. Halicki, who also stars AND did most of the

stunt driving! This is truly a film the likes of which we will never see

again, thanks to our over-protective, sue-happy, society of wimps

and victims. Several comments are made about the acting in this

film. I would say that for none of the cast being professionals, they

handled themselves very well. And as for this being Halicki's first

film as a director, he must've known a few things and/or had some

great tech people working with him because the film is cut

together so wonderfully. Then too there is the sheer guilty

pleasure of see cars obliterated. I wish I could've seen this on the

big screen. So, if you're looking for a film with a lot of meaning,

skip this one. If you just want to enjoy a well crafted little film, and

see lots of Plymouth police cars get crunched--run out and get

GONE IN 60 SECONDS (but drive safely, please)!
