Did You Know?

Edit
Trivia Robert De Niro spent four months learning to speak the Sicilian dialect in order to play Vito Corleone. Nearly all of the dialogue that his character speaks in the film was in Sicilian. See more »
Goofs When young Vito arrives in New York and the Statue of Liberty is shown, the patina on the statue is clearly bright green. The patina on Lady Liberty would not have been completely developed in 1901. At the time, the patina was covering most of the statue, starting with the torch, arm, head and torso, but not the entire length of the statue's dress as shown in the film. It should have been covered in a patchy patina from the waist down, with a primarily brown color. See more »

Crazy Credits As with the first film no opening credits are shown. Although it is now commonplace for films not to have opening credits, it was considered innovative in 1974. See more »
Quotes Michael Corleone: My father taught me many things here - he taught me in this room. He taught me: keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.
