Goofs

The plane takes off from Washington Dulles Airport in complete darkness, in the early hours of the morning. It heads west to Los Angeles, however on the exterior shots of the plane flying west, dawn is seen rising in the west and not the east. See more »

Quotes

Bill: This thing will never get off the ground. Never fly. Take my word for it.
Gloria Swanson: Young man, you think this thing will not fly? In 1917 I was flying in something wilder than this. Do you know who the pilot was?
Bill: Wiley Post?
Gloria Swanson: [Chuckles] No. Cecil B. De Mille and we flew from Hollywood nonstop to Pasadena. Yes, and on the way home we did loop the loops so I could see the moon upside down.

Up there with the best of the Disaster Movies
9 January 1999 | by NatsmithSee all my reviews

AIRPORT 1975 not only has a great cast and special effects it has a reputation that has lasted the 25 years since its release. I first heard of this movie when I first watched the original Airport and everyone said great things about it and I would have to agree. Karen Black ,though her eyes throw you off, gives a great performance as the stewardess who has to fly the plane after the flight crew is killed or hurt by a small plane which crashes into the plane. Charlton Heston, George Kennedy and the rest of the cast are great and keep this movie going from the word GO! I also love the score which has to be one of my favorites!! 10 out of 10
