    • Trivia
The series' highest ever audience figure is 18 million, for Episode #1.1829 (1993) in which a plane crashed onto the village. The storyline also made an early soap crossover, when Channel 4's Brookside (1982) had newspaper headlines reporting on the disaster. (UK television supremo Phil Redmond worked on both shows.)
    • Goofs
When engaged to Luke McAllister, Tina Dingle tells him and his sister Jessica about her oldest brother Nathan's wedding. Nathan is never mentioned again, and Tina's father specifically references having three sons (and then four when he discovers his supposed nephew, Cain, is actually his son) - Ben, Francis (Butch) and Sam.
    • Quotes

      Charity Tate: Where's your boyfriend?

Debbie Jones: He's not my boyfriend.

Charity Tate: I wouldn't call them boyfriend at your age either.

Debbie Jones: No, you called them clients.

Modern and urbane... not a new thing in Emmerdale!!!
People may complain about Emmerdale having become 'urbane' in recent years and moving away from it's so-called rural charm...

But these clips showing a racist attack in Leeds from December 1992, will show you just how modern and urbane the show had already become as the 90s kicked in...

...and to think that people thought that before the plane crash of 1993, all the show consisted of was Annie making tea and baking bread, and Jack & Joe milking a cow and sheepdipping... definitely not so...! :)
