Storyline
Plot Summary |
Alain Revent, a seductive and refined man, derives a peculiar satisfaction from debasing his wives. The first, driven to the brink of despair, throws herself out of a window. Enlisting the help of an equally perverse casual acquaintance, Dino, the "handsome brute" proceeds to emotionally torture his second wife, Nathalie. The sadistic plan is picked up on by Officer Leroy who suspects the truth. Will he be able to snatch the unfortunate woman from the evil Alain's clutches? Written by Anonymous |

Did You Know?
Trivia | The film exists in two (known, reported) versions. The first is the uncut 125min European version widely seen today. However, an alternate version with mostly different takes, and in which most performers delivered their lines in [phonetic] English before being (a bit ironically, perhaps) looped over by American voice actors. (A practice not entirely uncommon throughout the '60s and '70s, particularly with French cinema). The alternate English-language version runs 93 minutes, omitting several scenes and characters in the process; it also features different music in some places. See more » |
