Simple 'Chase Scene' Winds Up With Exceptional Material
The title makes you think this is a football story, but not so. It's the Pink Panther trying to get his quarter (25 cent-piece) back! Clever, eh? Maybe.
Anyway, the cartoon is clever and excellent, a wild trip through the city streets of the big city. It all starts when the PP finds a quarter on the street. He's going to celebrate by buying himself a hot dog. However, on the other side of the street comes the aroma of a sizzling hamburger. That, too, only costs a quarter (is that all they cost in the late '60s?). Unable to decide, our boy flips a coin - that quarter - and if starts rolling everywhere with the Panther in hot pursuit. When I say "everywhere" I mean down lots of streets, subways, through apartment buildings, subways, you name it.
Also, the people has has to battle for this quarter as he tries to capture it are wacky and very funny. This is excellent entertainment and one of the better Pink Panther shorts.
