Trivia

This episode is nearly identical in title, plot, and even some camera angles to the Bonanza "A Matter Of Circumstance" (which only switched the focus to Michael Landon's character rather than Karen Grassle's), and both were directed by William Claxton. See more »

Quotes

Dr. Hiram Baker: She's gonna be alright. You know Reverend, a doctor would have had difficulty making the decision Caroline did. How she picked exactly the right moment... only God knows.
Reverend Robert Alden: I'm sure He does, Doctor. I'm sure He does.

to stay strong!

This episode is excellent.Karen Grassle really shines in this episode. Her acting was suburb. Although I must ad that when I watched this episode the first time at age 12 it was a little disturbing and hard to watch. But when I got older and watched it again and again I saw what an excellent episode this really is. Charles and the girls go ahead on a camping/picnic trip.Caroline stays behind bc Reverend Alden asked her if she could bake some pies for the Bazaar. She will. And Tells chalrles that she would catch up with them the upcoming Saturday. Just before they leave Caroline Cuts her leg on a piece of wire. Later when Charles and the girls are gone she sees that her leg becomes infected,And it goes form bad to worse. Watch this episode you will really emotionally connect with Caroline as she struggles without any help.

Now continue to episode 16
