Storyline

A young hip New York couple, Jennifer and Paul Montgomery, love to play games. Jennifer is a wealthy heiress and inherited their New York brownstone from her mother. Paul for his part likes to spend her money and indulges his interests in modern art. They hold frequent parties and play their games. Into their lives appears Lisa Schindler, a door to door saleswoman. They decide to play one of their practical jokes on the grocery delivery man, Norman, where a supposedly jealous Paul accuses him of making advances to Jennifer, He shoots him twice - with blanks - and everyone has a laugh but the third shot kills him. In the days following his death Jennifer begins to hear noises in the house and seeing shadowy figures at the end of dark hallways. Is it all a game? Written by garykmcd

Costume Designer Morton Haack did the set decoration, but because this was against union rules, he was not credited for his work. See more »

Top Notch Mystery Thriller
23 August 2003 | by irishcoffee630See all my reviews

Stylish photography, very well acted and very well written and directed thriller that will keep you guessing until the end. Katherine Ross and James Caan as the bored kinky NY couple are outstanding in one of their early roles. Made in 1967 this film was way ahead of it's time with it's themes. If you like offbeat mysteries "Games" is a game you will want to play! Hard to find on tape, not on DVD and rarely on TV. Too bad because this film is like one of those lost cinematic gems. Hopefully a DVD distributer will release in a (hopefully)widescreen. Recommend this one highly.
