Trivia

When Snoopy pretends to cross wartime France as a downed pilot, he passes signs pointing to two real locations in the Champagne country northeast of Paris: Chalons sur Marne and Pont a Mousson. See more »

Goofs

In the opening scene in which Lucy and Linus go out to the pumpkin patch, we see the setting sun in the background, which the children pass as they walk. However, the sun (just like the moon when we drive a car) would not be "passed" as though it were a stationary object; rather it would "move" along with the person moving. A second setting sun appears at the end of the same shot, after the children turn a corner and walk in another direction. See more »

Crazy Credits

Linus and Charlie Brown are at the wall and Charlie tells Linus that he's done stupid things in his life, too. Then Linus keeps on shouting during the credits about how sitting and waiting in a pumpkin patch wasn't stupid. See more »

Alternate Versions

When ABC assumed the rights of "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown," an edited version was made to fit in a 21-22 minute time show. The following changes were made:
  • The scene where Charlie attempts to kick the football and Lucy pulls it away, even though she claims she has a signed document that prevents her from doing so was edited;
  • The sequence of Snoopy dancing to Schroeder's World War I-era piano music was cut
Since at least 2007, ABC has also aired the unedited version along with an edited version of "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown," only slightly cutting the transition music after Linus sets up shop in the pumpkin patch. See more »

A can't-miss Halloween must!
2 November 2004 | by ka-leidoscopeSee all my reviews

The thing I loved most about this Charlie Brown Halloween special was the sheer simplicity of it. The creators obviously aimed this at people of all ages; It is just so funny and cute, it's impossible not to love. There is no horror, thriller, or gruesome bloody scenes. It shows what Halloween is really about- the fun of trick-or-treating, and being with your friends.

Linus believes in the 'Great Pumpkin', the Santa Claus of Halloween. He misses out on Halloween to stay in the Pumpkin Patch, waiting for the Great Pumpkin to pick his pumpkin patch as the most sincere. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown and the gang get invited to Violet's halloween party. The gang save Sally goes trick-or-treating as well. Sally decides to stay with Linus.

Don't miss out on this! A must see for Halloween.
