Faux Documentary
6 April 2016 | by bkoganbingSee all my reviews

If you're looking for documentary dissection of the comedy of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello you are looking at the wrong film. Universal Studios where Bud and Lou made the bulk of their pictures put together this compilation of films clips and made a faux biographical film. The clips were carefully selected showing the boys in various occupations and it's narrated by Jack E. Leonard saying that these were some of the various jobs they did while looking for their break show business.

It would seem that Bud and Lou could not hold down a job no matter what they did. We see them in such jobs as plumbers in In Society, fireman in Lost In Alaska, and Lou in drag selling tamales in Mexican Hayride.

Jack E. Leonard who was Don Rickles mentor narrates the film with a few good natured digs. Definitely a must for A&C fans the world over.
