Trivia

In the early years of the Thames-produced series, some shows are in colour and some are in B/W. The B&W ones were produced during 'the colour strike' when TV technicians switched off the colour during a union dispute. See more »

Goofs

At the start of the second season, Marker moves into new premises in Birmingham which overlook Kane's Timber Yard. Despite the busy sound effects added by the production team to convey the atmosphere of a hectic workplace, the view from his office window regularly depicts the same selection of long-untouched wooden planks, since the scene is a stationary backdrop. By the following series Kane's have been taken over and presumably demolished, as a view of tower blocks has replaced the yard. See more »

series public eye - Alfred Burke
18 September 2006 | by mgrheadSee all my reviews

I've just watched a couple of series of public eye starring the excellent and underrated Alfred Burke.its the story of frank marker a detective struggling threw life trying to make aliving.who often ends up loosing out.excellent stories, and a power house performance from its lead.it also includes various actors who are now house hold names when they were starting out.for example David suchet,James bolam to name a couple.a series which deserves another look.sadly neglected by many stations,i believe UK gold sometimes shows a few.it also reflects the time it was set how people lived, very little money with no luxurious.this is TV at its best.
