Storyline

The Munsters are a weird but honest family. Herman (the father) is Frankenstein's monster. Lily (his wife) and Grandpa (her father) are vampires. Eddie (their little son) is a werewolf. Marilyn (their niece) is the only normal one (that is the ugly duck of the family). Written by Michel Rudoy <mdrc@hp9000a1.uam.mx>

Trivia

Herman's boss Mr. Gateman was often discussed but appeared in only two episodes. He was played by John Carradine in _"The Munsters" (1964) {Herman's Raise (#1.37)}_ and The Munsters: The Musician (1966). Carradine reappeared in Munster, Go Home! (1966) as Cruikshank the butler, and was famous outside the Munster universe for playing Doctor Frankenstein, Count Dracula, and other horror icons. See more »

Lurch who?
8 April 2001 | by See all my reviews

Although I liked the Addams Family quite a bit, the Munsters were it for me. Let's face it, grandpa make the show: without him a lot of the flavor would have been lost. I felt that he should have been on much more than he was. Marilyn, on the other hand, could have completely disappeared and I would never have noticed. Of course, the entire cast was great, the jokes were side splittingly corny, and the atmosphere of the house was nice and spooky.
