Tudor Vladimirescu fights against the Ottoman Turkish domination of Romania and the social agitation ,his story includes the war between Russia and Turkey from 18o6 to 1812,for which he was decorated by the Russians.
one of my favorite films. behind its artistic virtues. behind the historical portraits, not loyal to real facts. because it represents the beginning of a trend in Romanian cinema. because it is testimony about a time. and, off course, for the splendid spirit of the irony. because the use of history for legitimate the political vision of Communist Party is described by the presence of Lica Gheorghiu, the daughter of the most important Communist leader of period and her dialogues with Emanoil Gheorghiu or George Vraca. or by the Oltenian songs, one of the great good points of film. or, not the least, for George Vraca performance. but, first, the great virtue of film remains the impressive job of Emanoil Petruț.
