Firstly because of a dispute overe the rights to 'Gunga Din' the story on which the film is based and secondly this was the last Rat Pack project befoe the acrimonious row between Sinatra and Lawford that ended them. It's a very funny movie and I have only ever seen it once - in the cinemna in 1963 in the UK.
