For the scene where Maggie McKendrick (Maureen O'Hara) and Charles McKendrick (Charles Ruggles) are speaking in the bedroom, Ruggles didn't have any place to put the ashes of his cigarette. Writer and director David Swift mentioned someone he knew who put the ashes in his hand, and Ruggles asked for permission to use this. He did this in so casual a way that the ashes would be on the floor a few seconds later. See more »
When Hecky told Vicki that the 2 Little bear cubs wouldn't hurt a fly, while that statement is partially true, he forgot to consider the fact that their mother bear would've attacked Vicki and possibly the people in the camp if she was present. So Vicki was right to scare off 2 bears which saved her life and everybody in camp. See more »
Early '80s Disney Home Video releases of "The Parent Trap" are missing the scene in the car between Sharon (playing Susan) and her father before they drive up to the ranch. Also missing is a dissolve between the scene where Sharon (playing Susan) is hearing about the new woman from the housekeeper and when she is going to the pool to meet the new woman(it becomes a straight cut and a few seconds are saved in the process). What can I say, it's got the Disney magic to it, and a pretty good idea. If you like Disney films, you'll love this. It's a true "classic" to be quoted, and can be enjoyed by all ages. Just stay clear of the 1998 remake. 3.5/5 stars--
