Storyline

Martin and his girlfriend Zorica are two students who live as subtenants in separate flats. Since that situation has devastating effect on their love life, they yearn after the place of their own. When Martin's landlords go to the hollidays, it seems that their prayers, at least temporarily, had been listened to. However, the idilla is very short one, because other people also want to use the situation. Written by Dragan Antulov <dragan.antulov@altbbs.fido.hr>

Great movie with a well-crafted plot and funny dialogue
24 March 2010 | by VlakaSee all my reviews

The story that revolves around a couple in love(often quarreling) gives this movie a screwball comedy quality. Yet, this movie isn't only about troubles of being in love, but about troubles that those in love have with the world around them. Martin and Zorica have one main preoccupation, and that is finding a place to live. This leads them into innumerable troubles, that eventually makes the ties between them stronger. "Martin u oblacima" reminded me of the third short movie from "Subotom uvece", both movies show tendencies that were later lost in Yugoslavian cinema, during "Crni talas"(black wave) and afterward. A simple love story like this is sure refreshing in a cinematography that was always overshadowed by it's country's issues.
