Story of a Navy ship with a captain obsessed with catching a fish, a singing executive officer wanting to get married, and an Indian with a turkey as a pet. With Pat Boone as the hopeful suitor, Barbara Eden as his girl, and Buddy Hackett assigned to Boone to stay out of the captain's way.
Generation Xers grew up be entertained by Buddy Hackett and this movie is no exception. In this movie he plays a crazed Native American sailor on a Navy Destroyer to the extent that the skipper assigns a young officer, Lt. Donald, to keep him out of trouble. Both Lt. Donald and the skipper find themselves falling for a pair of ladies and hilarity ensues.
All Hands on Deck has great family friendly plot with a good cast. By current movie standards it does drag a bit, but that is because it actually spends time on this crazy thing called character development which you don't see in many movies today.
It is a crying shame that it is not on DVD or blue-ray.
