This is believed to be the first Disney feature to be colorized. It was first colorized in the 1980s for presentation on television. For this reason, a color version was available only in a pan-and scan format that had been edited to fit into a two-hour time slot. A second superior computer colored version was produced in 2006.

The liner notes for a Disney DVD release claims that this is "The first ever live-action movie ever produced by Walt Disney...." This is completely false and ignores over a dozen live-action features (not counting shorts) that were produced and released by Disney.

In the dance scene, while the teenagers are doing the Tag Dance, they dance to music that was previously used in the Disney-produced television serial "Annette," which also featured Tim Considine, Annette Funicello and Roberta Shore. In the previous project, the music was also used for a dance scene where Annette and Roberta were rivals.
