When Captain Ross is standing in the office listening to the Morse code transmission several people say that the ship is sending an SOS. While the shipboard operator may be requesting help, he is not sending SOS which consists of 3 short - 3 long - 3 short keystrokes.
When William Holden first opens the fuse box, in the lobby of the apartment to get booze, the hinge is on the left. Later in the movie, he opens it and it opens with the hinge on the right.
David receives a phone call telling him that the USA has entered the war. Stella then opens the flat's curtains and throws open the sash window; outside are some flowerpots, with flowers in bloom. Later, David leaves her in bed, with the window open. None of that would be likely in England in early December.
