Trivia

One thousand arc lights were used to simulate sunlight. Thanks to extensive pre-lighting of the set, the crew could make the changeover from day to night in under forty-five minutes. See more »

Goofs

Jeff, a professional photo-journalist, doesn't bother to take any photos of the developing mystery in his own back yard. He merely uses the camera with telephoto lens as a makeshift telescope. The only photos he seems to have taken were of the (at that time completely uninteresting) flower bed a couple of weeks earlier. See more »

Jeff's Editor: Congratulations, Jeff!
Jeff: For what?
Jeff's Editor: For getting rid of that cast!

Jeff's Editor: This is Wednesday; seven weeks from the day you broke your leg. Yes or no?
Jeff: Gunnison, how did you ever get to be such a big editor with such a small memory?

First-rate thriller
12 February 2018 | by bLuR-7See all my reviews

Having watched it for the second time recently, I was struck by how razor-sharp the film's script actually was. Sure, it didn't have a big Agatha Christie-type mystery reveal; but the banter and repartee between the main characters was just so well-written. Of course, the film's framing and camerawork is legendary (for good reason) and Grace Kelly has a luminous screen presence. Suspenseful, intriguing, and a film that shows off a master at the peak of his craft.
