- Marshal Tyrone and the Silver Kid form an uneasy alliance against a gang of claim jumpers.
- A gang of claim jumpers is infesting the territory, gaining ownership of undermanned mining operations through extortion...and leaving no live witnesses. But one victim, quick-drawing gambler Luke Cromwell, escapes. Meanwhille, Marshal Lightnin' Tyrone is also after the gang; recovering from one raid, he meets femme fatale Opal Lacy, who may not be healthy for him to know. When Luke, now calling himself the Silver Kid, joins forces with Marshal Tyrone, the gang had better watch out ...unless something drives a wedge between the new allies.—Rod Crawford <puffinus@u.washington.edu>
- Dangerous bandits led by Rod Lacy (Gerald Mohr) are rampaging through the region. Under threat, they force defenseless miners to surrender their claims, then kill them so as not to leave any witnesses to their exactions. The father of young Luke Cromwell (Audie Murphy) dies just as his son is about to bring the fruits of their discovery to town. Meanwhile, in Silver City, having found a lead, Marshall "Lightning" Tyrone (Stephen McNally) sets off in pursuit of the same gang. But as he goes to apprehend them, he is wounded in the hand and taken back to a fort for treatment. As it happens, another wounded man is also brought in, having witnessed the killers' actions and been able to see their faces. Before he can speak, a pretty young woman, Opale (Faith Domergue), posing as a nurse, strangles him. Back in his hometown, the Marshall learns that his old deputy and friend has been shot in the back. After suspecting a newcomer calling himself the "Silver Kid", he realizes his mistake after the latter explains that he is none other than Luke Cromwell, also on the hunt for his father's killers. Unable to use his wounded hand, and knowing by reputation the Silver Kid's great marksmanship, he makes him his new deputy. There's no need to look far for the gang, for under cover of honorability, they're hiding out right in the heart of town: Rod Lacy and his "sister" Opale run a shop there. Opale (Rod's girlfriend and business partner) uses her powers of seduction to lure the Marshall into an ambush, but the Kid is on the lookout. After countless adventures and violent deaths, our two valiant heroes finally put an end to the dealership thieves in a gunfight on the rocks of Silver Creek.
