Storyline

Dr. Elizabeth Weir leads an expedition to find the Ancient's lost city of Atlantis, a journey that brings her and a carefully selected crew of Earth's best and brightest to the Pegasus galaxy, where they embark on the adventure of a lifetime, and awaken among the stars an enemy none of them could have predicted, endangering themselves and the native people of Pegasus alike.

Trivia

When the 'Stargate Atlantis' pilot was filmed, there were four regular characters in Stargate SG-1, but only two of them (Jack O'Neill and Daniel Jackson) appear in Rising. According to Amanda Tapping, who played Samantha Carter, her character and Teal'c weren't allowed to appear due to rights issues. They were created for the Stargate SG-1 TV show, and including them in the new show would mean using the work from one of the producers to boost a new, different show. Jack and Daniel already appeared in the Stargate movie and therefore they weren't affected. Anyway, the four of them appear in several Stargate Atlantis episodes throughout its five seasons.

Goofs

When John Sheppard is told to shut down the engines on the helicopter to keep the drone from hitting he pulls down the rotor brake which is NOT the engine shutoff. The rotor brake is used after the engines have been shut down.

Oustanding spin off show of SG-1

I've always liked Stargate, it has all the mysterious question about religion, space, technology and the nature of our existence and much more.

It also has a great storyline, it's based on the series Star Gate SG-1. In their search of the lost city of 'Atlantis', the answer to all those questions.. As they found it, it was hidden under the water and SGC sent a team of people over there, to explore Atlantis and make possible contact with the Ancients, the builders of the Star Gate and Atlantis.

But they were gone. the team of scientists start exploring the city and galaxy to finally find the enemy that defeated the ancients, they were called the Wraith. Now the team were stuck at Atlantis without power and an enemy more evil than the Goa'uld at their door step...
