Trivia

Filmed with the Garutso Balanced Lens, which produced a slight three dimensional effect, as it permitted an extreme depth of field without stopping down the lens. As such, the film was re-released in 1953 to take advantage of the 3-D craze; although the 3-D effect is minimal, the re-release was hyped as being filmed in a 3-D process that did not require glasses. Cyrano de Bergerac
13 May 1999 | by Coxer99See all my reviews

Exceptional performance from Oscar winner Ferrer says it all in this adaptation of the famous Rostand classic love story. In one of the greatest characters in dramatic literature, Cyrano is the poet with the long nose who writes tender love letters to a beautiful lady for his friend. Cyrano loves the woman too...and the rest is magic.
